Pine Ridge Plaza Building

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 251 ton steel contract on the 100,000 square foot Pine Ridge Plaza Building in Lincoln, Nebraska by Brager Construction of Lincoln, Nebraska.  The Pine Ridge Plaza Building is located along the south side of Pine Lake Rd. from 16th St. to 20th St. in a well developed area of South Lincoln. The surrounding area includes numerous housing, apartment, retail, and business park developments.

Pinnacle Bank Arena

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 225 ton Bid Package 3, Section 3c Miscellaneous Metals and Stairs and Erection contract and the 7,200 lineal feet Ornamental Metals and Railings and Erection contract Bid Package 3, Section 3b on the Pinnacle Bank Arena by the joint venture between Mortenson Construction of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hampton Construction of Lincoln, Nebraska.

 The West Haymarket Redevelopment project is a multi-faceted endeavor intended to enrich and revitalize the 400 acres of blighted and underutilized property that lies on the western edge of Lincoln’s downtown and Haymarket district.  The proposed project possesses a number of new and exciting elements, such as:  a new civic arena, hotels, community plaza, retail and office space as well as upscale residential units.  The area will be supported by the addition of about 7,000 parking spaces and ample public gathering areas.

 The arena itself will contain an estimated fixed-seat capacity of 16,500, with possible future expansion expanding capacity to 18,000.  Distributed over approximately 450,000 square feet on four concourse levels, the facility will feature the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) men’s and women’s basketball teams as anchor tenants, and will provide dedicated locker rooms, training rooms, and support space for UNL game operations.

Educare of Lincoln

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 137 ton steel contract on the Educare of Lincoln project in Lincoln, Nebraska by Sampson Construction of Lincoln, Nebraska.  The school will serve 150 children in poverty and their families in its first year, with a potential to serve nearly 200.  The school will open in the fall of 2012.  For more information of Educare just click the link.

Pinnacle Bank Arena

The joint venture between Midwest Steel Works of Lincoln, Nebraska and LeJeune Steel of Minneapolis, Minnesota has been awarded the $13.7 million, 3,500 – 4,000 ton steel and erection contract on the Pinnacle Bank Arena by the joint venture between Mortenson Construction of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hampton Construction of Lincoln, Nebraska.  See web cam for progress on the arena.

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 501 ton steel and erection contract on the Aspen Valley Hospital Expansion Phase II in Aspen, Colorado by Haselden Construction of Centennial, Colorado.  Aspen Valley Hospital has a reputation for personalized, quality care. Mercy Medical Center – Birthing Center

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 220 ton steel and erection contract on the Mercy Medical Center – Birthing Center located in Williston, North Dakota by J.E. Dunn Construction of Denver Colorado.  Mercy Medical Center is a fully accredited Joint Commission, 25-bed Critical Access regional medical facility which serves approximately 50,000 people from Western North Dakota and Eastern Montana. Mercy Medical Center was founded in 1920 by the Sisters of Mercy to provide quality healthcare for the whole person regardless of socioeconomic status, race, or ability to pay. Since then, Mercy Medical Center has become a regional medical center offering a range of services including emergency services, surgery, wellness programs, cancer treatment, home health, hospice, chemical dependency programs, rehabilitation therapies, and many more.

Vail Valley Medical Center

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 175 ton steel and erection contract on the Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado by Haselden Construction of Centennial Colorado.  Vail Valley Medical Center  is a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality health care for 50,000 residents in 6 counties. Since its founding in 1962, this hospital has grown with local energy and determination.  Today, the hospital provides comprehensive medical care with over 190 physicians, 58 acute beds, and professional and support staff of over 700.

Fairplay School

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 396 ton steel and erection contract on the Fairplay P-12 School, Park County School District Re-2, located in Park County, Colorado by Saunders Construction, Inc. of Centennial, Colorado.  According to the District web site Park County School District Re-2 is located in Park County, Colorado 85 miles west of Denver. Park County is in central Colorado and blends the historic Old West with modern rural life. The district serves the communities and rural areas surrounding Fairplay, Hartstel, Alma, Como, Jefferson, Lake George, and Guffey. The county occupies a geographical area of 1,721 square miles which is nearly the size of the state of Delaware.

Willits Town Center

Midwest Steel Works has been awarded the 642 ton steel and erection contract on the Willits Town Center, Block 2 project located in Basalt, Colorado by  J.E. Dunn Construction Company of Denver Colorado.  The Willits Town Center was originally awarded to Midwest Steel Works by Pioneer Steel in 2008 however the project was stalled due to the economic slowdown in 2008 through 2011.  The project has been restarted with a new owner group and general contractor.
