About Midwest Steel Works
Midwest Steel Works was founded in 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Initially, we provided steel locally but soon expanded into out state Nebraska. In 1979, we expanded our steel business even further, into the state of Colorado. At its inception, the company was employee-owned and that aim has continued on through today.
Our philosophy is a commitment to service and quality. That philosophy is upheld by a dedicated, conscientious, and experienced staff. All of our detailing is provided in-house using SDS/2 and is prepared under the direct supervision of a registered engineer. We currently have three registered engineers and two engineers in training, as well as AWS Certified welders. Our experienced drafting staff is second to none and provides the first step in quality control with their preparation of steel shop drawings. Our management team also takes a very active role in quality control on our steel projects.
We use material that is traceable with certified mill test reports. Weld tests can also be provided upon request. Midwest Steel Works maintains a large inventory to meet your day to day needs and items not in stock are generally available within 24 hours.
